I am a farmer who has been using Hermetia illucens for waste management and animal feed production on my farm for the past year. In that time, I have seen several benefits to using these insects.
The Hermetia illucens are incredibly efficient at breaking down organic waste, including food waste and animal manure. This has helped us reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and has improved the overall sustainability of our farm.
Njoki & Njeri Penuel farm
The larvae of the Hermetia illucens are rich in protein and other nutrients, making them an excellent source of animal feed. We have been using them to feed our pigs and chickens, and have seen improved growth and health in the animals.

I am an upcoming Black Soldier Fly farmer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I would like to thank Pastor Robert for being an integral part in the start of my BSF farming journey. He took the time to come and inspect my premises and gave valuable recommendations. He provided me with step by step training in the BSF farming processes and that combined with determination on my side has ensured my success. I value the ongoing mentorship that he is providing.”After all not all flies are filthy,BSF farming is the future and the future is now"
