Protein master is an agricultural enterprise that produces insect-based protein sources from the black soldierfly (BSF larvae ). BSF is an insect that is known to decompose organic waste and convert it to protein. About us
Problem
By 2050, the population of the world is expected to increase at previously unheard-of rates reaching 9.1 billion people. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a 70% increase in global food production will be required to feed such a large population.
It takes a lot of input to produce meat. For instance, depending on the livestock, it can take anywhere from 2 to 7 kilograms of feed to produce 1 kilogram of meat. Large tracts of forests are being removed to cultivate this feed, endangering biodiversity. 70% of the world's freshwater use in 2010 was attributed to agricultural output, more than half of which was used to feed animals.
According to studies, there won't be enough fresh water available to irrigate croplands to feed the projected population in 2050 at the current pace of use.
They all need a lot of protein, which is why farmed fish, pigs, and chickens are currently fed similar diets. Currently, that protein is derived from fish meal or soy. Both of them require inputs, which deplete natural resources and do so at an unsustainable rate.
