Fredrick Kimathi is a Black Soldier Fly Resource, Trainer, Advocate, and Farmer, and an ordained minister. He is the co-founder & Executive Director of Protein Masters, and one of the regions foremost authorities on beneficial insect production.

Since the company's inception in 2018, he has championed BSF production in and around East Africa. In partnership with academia and researchers, Fredrick is at the forefront of mainstreaming and advocating for the BSF Agenda through training, research, and innovation.

Fredrick has overseen over 3000 BSF training sessions in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa and Ethiopia and continues to push the boundary on the barely untapped potential of BSF.

Robert Wanjohi is co-founder and Director of Protein Masters. An ordained minister & leadership expert based in South Africa, Robert provides expertise and direction on governance, leadership and volunteerism in Protein Masters.

Robert oversees governance, policy and strategic direction in Protein Masters where his experience in leadership, conflict resolution and management are invaluable

DR. Isaac M. Osuga - Researcher

Dr. Isaac M. Osuga is a Kenyan Researcher and lecturer based at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) specializing in Animal Nutrition and Animal Production. Dr. Osuga's research makes him a key resource person in low-carbon footprint feeding resources/alternatives in animal production. His research in the use of Black Soldier Fly Larvae as protein-rich dietary additives to poultry, fish, and livestock feed with impressive results in improved animal productivity, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Dr. Osuga mentors and guides Protein Masters in the company’s BSF Research and Innovation activities

Dr. Laura Gasco - Research Partner

Dr. Gasco is Full Professor in the University of Turin, Italy, and a world reknown authority in aquaculture, rabbit and poultry sciences with particular focus on breeding, nutrition, and product quality. She is a 25-year veteran in matter animal nutrition and has authored over 250 scientific publications.

Since 2012, Laura has conducted trials on insects as potential raw material in fish and poultry nutrition in collaboration with research groups all over the world.

As our research partner, Dr. Gausco has worked extensively with Protein Masters as a research partner sharing valuable insights and discoveries in the field of BSF

Edwin Aldrin Adenya - Field Officer

Edwin Aldrin Adenya is a Land and Water Management Consultant with over 15 years experience working with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization of the United Nations (UNESCO). With a background in Agricultural Education and Extension, Mr. Adenya has several published peer reviewed papers in academia and has participated in various bankable proposals in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and South Sudan.

He brings a wealth of exprience to Protein Masters and oversees the companies field activities.

Sharon Kamathi - Marketing/Sales

Sharon is Communications and Public Relations practitioner with extensive experience in corporate sector in Kenya and abroad. With over a decade's experience in the competitive hospitality industry, Sharon brings a wealth of expertise to Protein Masters as the head of Marketing and Sales.

Sharon has embraced the challenge of marketing and promoting BSF, and has been instrumental in the company’s regional growth

Lucy Ngorongo - Protein Master Partner

Lucy Ngorongo is the CEO of Junky Bins, a private waste management company based in Nairobi, Kenya that has established a Zero Waste Materials Recovery Facility. This is a waste recycling facility that operates on Zero Waste principles (everything gets recycled).

Lucy partnered with Protein Masters and incorporated the Black Soldier Fly in Junky Bins organic waste management regimen. Junky Bins is one of the first private waste collection firms to implement waste segregation at source in its business model.

The Junky Bins/Protein Masters partnership provides a working model where BSF is an integral part of solid waste management in urban areas.

Felix Chege - Protein Master Partner

Felix is an ICT professional specializing in Web & Mobile Applications Developer and UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface) Testing & Design. Felix also provides structured cabling/networking, network & device software, and hardware maintenance.

He has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining Protein Masters' digital ecosystem including but not limited to the company's knowledge management infrastructure, social media presence, web presence and other online assets).

Felix is also an ardent and practicing BSF farmer
